Statistical programmer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Statistical Programmer to join our dynamic and supportive team on full time basis. What does the job look like?

We are looking for a keen full time statistical programmer with strong programming skills. SAS coding will be an essential part of your daily responsibilities. A statistical/clinical trial background or/and experience would be an advantage. If you join our team as a statistical programmer you will be responsible for:

  • Generating data review and interim reports;
  • Creating statistical outputs (tables, figures and listings) for pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic endpoints;
  • Allocating treatment (randomisation);
  • Developing standardised SAS code.

What CHDR offers you

We offer you a one-year contract for a between 32-40 hours per week, with the prospect of a permanent position. The corresponding terms of employment below are based on a 40-hour workweek:

  • Salary between €3855,00 and €5561,00 per month, depending on your experience;
  • You will build up a good pension with ABP, receive 8% vacation allowance, and a year-end bonus ranging from 3.8% to 12%;
  • 25 vacation days per year, plus 1 Diversity Day;
  • Opportunities for personal development through training courses or certifications, fully funded by CHDR;
  • Our office is in a prime location: right next to Leiden Central Station, making it perfectly accessible by public transport. Your travel costs will be reimbursed up to 100%, or you can choose to purchase an (electric) bicycle at a reduced rate.

What you bring to CHDR

We are looking for a motivated Statistical Programmer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working on multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, is able to deliver continuously under tight deadlines, and possesses excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Proficiency in SAS is preferred, though knowledge of other statistical programming languages will also be considered. Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Life Sciences, or other relevant fields;
  • Experience as a statistical programmer or statistician, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, biotech, CRO, or other clinical settings;
  • Proficiency in SAS is preferred, however knowledge of other statistical programming languages (e.g. R) will also be considered;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal.

Who are we?

The Centre for Human Drug Research (CHDR) is a non-profit foundation located at the Leiden Bio Science Park. Since its establishment in 1987, CHDR has grown into an innovative institute in the field of clinical drug development. Each year, we conduct dozens of studies involving healthy volunteers and patients. We work closely with university medical centers, major hospitals, and researchers around the world. Within the organization, around 300 permanent employees and more than 100 students work together to support our research and gain valuable experience.
